Super Gluten-Free "Just Add Water" Pizza Crust Mix
makes one 12” pizzas
makes eight 12” pizzas
You will need:
1 Cup of Vegan Mario's Gluten Free "Just Add Water" Pizza Crust Mix
3⁄4 cup of water
(optional) 1 Tablespoon of Olive Oil
flour for dusting, your pizza dough should never be sticky when you drop it on a pan or pizza peel... it should slide freely.
Directions:
** PRO TIP ** If you aren't using the whole bag at once, it is good practice to pour.out the entire bag into a bowl and mix thoroughly to ensure even distribution of salt and yeast. Once that's done, you can take out the portion you'd like to use, OR make it all at once and ball up and freeze your extra
PREP. Get your stone or iron heating in the oven
1. Combine and whisk together the Mix and water (and oil) until ALL lumps disappear. The mix will be very "runny" at first but quickly begin to thicken.
2. Cover your dough and let it rise until it has doubled, filled with air and is soft to the touch. This time will vary depending on your ambient temperature. Overnight is a great amount of time.
3. Roll out your dough out very thin, with a pin, or carefully press by hand to a 12" diameter circle. (a pin is easier for beginners)
4. Top with your favorites.
5. Bake on a preheated pizza stone at 450 degrees for 12-15 minutes or higher for less time. ** PRO TIP **check temp with a laser thermometer (If you do not have a pizza stone, the next best thing is some preheated cast iron. If you do not have cast iron, you can start on a sheet pan untill the dough is hard enough to move right to the wire oven rack.)
6. Enjoy!!!
